Our Program

Menotomy Musical Theater, formerly named Bishop Cooperative Theater, was founded in 1999 in an effort to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a high quality theatrical experience. With no elementary theater program in the Arlington Public Schools, the goal was to form an independent theater program that would give young thespians a taste for live theater.

As the program evolved, support and interest from the local community grew, resulting in a 2010 expansion of the program's offerings to students outside of the Bishop School community. The most recent production included students from 16 different school communities.

At MMT our mission is to teach Life Skills Through Stage Skills. We believe that the discipline of theatre not only gives children a creative outlet but also increases their self-esteem, social skills, problem solving skills, language and speaking skills, team building skills, memorization skills, and empathy for others.  At MMT we are passionate about using theatre to enrich the lives of young people and everyone living in our community.
